WORK EXPERIENCE



2008-2019: Full-time freelance 3D and effects contracts for various clients, my job including directing, set supervision, matte painting, effects design, 3D creation, 3D scanning, Motion tracking, 360 HDR photography, shading, lighting, modeling, sculpting, rigging, animation, VFX, fluid simulations, rendering and compositing:

For Studio Pascal blais: Cadillac: Effects design and creation for 4 Cadillac commercials including very difficult FX such as fire, photorealistic insect, melting metal and liquid simulation.

For Studio Pascal Blais: Kellogg’s: 3D set for Kellogg’s Mini Wheat commercial.

With director Patrick Boivin: effects for commercials for corporations such as: Lego, Tony Hawk, X-Games and LG

For Heliofant corp (full CG short movie): All-rounder 3D artist mostly effects, for a personal 3D short made by Louis Lefebvre (M. Lefebvre was Character TD on Gollum in LOTR). Tasks description: modeling, lighting and stylised special effects development and creation using Maya, Real Flow, 3DS Max, Afterburn.

Tasks description: realistic special effects development and creation for high quality HDTV and movies using XSI, 3dsMax Particle Flow and Afterburn.



2004-2005 Ubisoft Entertainment Inc.

Special effects artist, Various Cinematic Projects for high end video games (Prince of Persia, Far Cry).

Tasks description: realistic special effects development and creation for high quality game cinematics. Cloth simulation using Syflex and XSI, Hair and Fire simulation, particles, Maya fluids, real flow.
Requirements: ability to learn new software quickly; creativity; good artistic background. Good knowledge of 3dsmax, XSI, maya, Real Flow, Syflex, etc. etc.



2004 and 2005 Freelance contract for Avanti.

TV Show intro animator and creator (Radio-Canada: SMASH)

I created and animated the intro for the television show Smash with Daniel Lemire at Radio-Canada. I worked with the Director amd friend Ricardo Trogi.I used Discreet Combustion for animation and compositing.



2004 Ubisoft Entertainment Inc.

Compositing artist for high end video games, (Rainbow Six 4).

Special effects artist, Myst IV: Revelation.

Tasks description: pre-rendered special effects for the game Myst IV: Revelation.
Requirements: ability to create a vast range of realistic special effects; creativity; knowledge of softwares (3dsMAX; Photoshop; Combustion; After Effects); drawing abilities, organization, ability to work with a team.



2001-2003 Sogestalt (Guy Latraverse)/Alliage/Tele-Quebec

Special effects supervisor (Phylactere Cola) (full time, 70-90 hrs/week)

Tasks description: special effects creator, 3D animator, make up artist (foam latex) , actor , props creator for a new kind of TV show.
Requirements: ability to work on tight deadlines; creativity; knowledge of softwares (3dsMAX; Photoshop; Combustion; After Effects); drawing abilities; mastery of sculpting and molding techniques, organization, ability to work with a team.

N.B.: this show was sold in Canada, Spain and Finland and we won several prizes (Gemeau and SODEC special prize).

Modeling R & D crew manager for hiugh end video games (full time)

Tasks description: in charge of research planning and follow-up reports. I was head of a 5 persons crew. Our goal was to discover new ways to use existing technology and exploring new technologies in real time 3D gaming. I was also the technical resource for the crew. I was chosen for the qualities I proved in production.

Tasks description: I created the concept, design, all the blueprints and a prototype for a multi functions tool for bicycle.
